Department of Economics

DIVISION VΙ MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS

Division of Mathematics and Informatics at the Department of Economics provides relevant courses to the undergraduate degree programme as well as to the graduate programmes of applied economics, telecommunications management, mathematics of production and the doctoral programme of economics. Mathematical concepts and methods used in economics are taught, while certain courses are supported by computer packages. The research work of the faculty spans a range of themes in optimization, numerical approximation, dynamical systems, optimal control, credit risk, economic analysis, business strategy, computer systems, data networks, telematic applications, telecommunications, and information society.
